I am torn. Trying to find a good balance between buying natural healthy foods that are nutritious and dont have a lot of added chemicals and preservatives, buying food that we can afford, and or buying food that is somewhat convenient. I feel very strongly that most of the stuff we, Americans, eat is junk. I know my family feels better when we are not eating processed fatty foods. I think it really effects our health, mood, energy levels and over all wellness so much more than we think! On the other hand, I am a mom with two young kids and trying to make things from scratch and buy fruits and veggies is hard to do when your kids need so much attention and you cant get to the store every few days. And on top of that, I love finding great deals on foods and using coupons, but what I am finding with that is that I end up buying things that are not healthy and that I dont want my family to be eating just because it's on sale and I have a coupon for it and it's such a good "deal".
For example, these week I got four boxes of cereal for $1.25 a box. I was so proud of my deal, but my family has been eating sugary cereal non stop! Before I had stopped buying it because it is so bad for you, basically eating sugar and milk. Doesn't give you any nutrients or energy. (well the kind that was on sale doesn't).
It seems like the healthy foods or organic options are very rarely on sale and almost never have coupons.
So I dont know if there is an answer, I guess you just have to stick to your budget and try to keep it as natural and healthy as possible.
The battle continues do I want to hurt my wallet or hurt my body?
Any suggestions....?

i agree. it is a struggle. most of my issues are with time. i think, in general, it's cheaper to buy more natural food but obviously it takes more time to prepare (something i have very little of)
yes i thought buying fresh natural foods was the cheapest and best options but it is NOT convenient, or maybe i just need to learn to plan ahead better and make things and freeze them. I need someone to teach me how though.... and of course i understand you have no time right now!
