So my blog is about to take a big turn! From mostly decorating to our adoption story. YES! We are adopting. I have been wrestling with the decision on whether or not to have another baby, for the past several months. Jett is now past two and I was starting to feel like I was ready for something, but not sure what. I began to pray a lot about this. But just didn't have a clear answer.
I felt really unsettled about this and at the same time, God was really burdening Jarrod and my heart for missions and those in need. Jarrod was given the opportunity to go on a mission trip to Haiti which is something he has always wanted to do. He will be going in September this year.
But as I was praying through what God wanted for our family, the word ADOPTION popped in to my head! I was really startled, and asked "God do you really want me to adopt?" I really had no desire or ever really thought about adoption before this. So I KNEW this was from God. I continued to pray about it and started reading verses about how God has a special place in His heart for orphans, and how we are called to care for them. I couldn't stop thinking about it! I knew that Jarrod would have to be on board 110% in order for this to happen, so i asked him to think and pray about it. Sure enough, Jarrod felt just as passionate about it after we both did some serious talking and praying.
So here we are, looking for agencies.
God has laid it on our hearts to adopt, and this decision has NOT been made lightly. But it has been made with a lot of prayer and discussion. We are trusting him completely!
It is amazing how God brings people into your life at exactly the right time. Just reassures me this is all in God's plan. As soon as I start having doubts or fears, God puts a verse or someone in my life to reassure me what is really important and to TRUST Him!
This verse was given to me by some friends that are also adopting, it is so encouraging to me
Proverbs 24:12
Don’t excuse yourself by saying, “Look, we didn’t know.”
For God understands all hearts, and he sees you.
He who guards your soul knows you knew.
He will repay all people as their actions deserve.
Please pray with us, as we start this journey!
